My name is Angel H. Espiritu III Ph.D. I have been teaching for 10 years. I graduated from the University of San Carlos in Cebu. I handled subjects from Economics, Management, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism. Here are some reasons why I will vote for Pres. Joseph "Erap" Estrada. Our country needs a leader who truly understands the majority. Masang Filipino. |
I AM VOTING FOR PRES. JOSEPH “ERAP” ESTRADA……
1. AGRICULTURE the backbone of our country's economy. It is our competitive advantage. We need to go back to Agriculture. . We need a real economic growth and this starts with Agriculture. The Philippine is a rich in natural resources. We are a rich country. We need to tap these resources and we need a leader who believes that agriculture will set us free from poverty. This is Pres. Joseph Estrada who during his administration had agriculture as his number one priority.
2. CHAMPION OF THE MASSES. Erap represents the sectors that are under represented. These are the MASA (the common people who are not well off). In President Erap’s campaign, he focuses on areas that are deprived of basic services. He is the only candidate that visits these underprivileged areas in the Philippines. When ever Erap visits different towns it is always electrifying. The translation is the people still believe in him. Walang tutulong sa Filipino kundi ang kapwa Filipino
3. EDSA2 was a FAILURE of democracy and due process!
Bring the rightful President back to Malacanang!
According to no less than the Honorable Cecilia Munoz-Palma, the former Supreme Court Justice and chairperson of the 1987 Constitutional Commission, Edsa 2 caused the 1987 Constitution to suffer. "This happened when the ongoing impeachment trial of President Joseph Estrada, was unceremoniously disrupted and discontinued, and the issues on hand were brought to the streets. The rule of law was set aside and the rule of force prevailed.”
Singapore Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew, as quoted in the January 26, 2001 issue of The Straits Times, believed that “The change of power in the Philippines was no boost for democracy because it was done outside the constitution...”
Philip Bowring of the International Herald Tribune wrote in January 22, 2001 that "far from being a victory for democracy that is being claimed by leaders of the Anti-Estrada Movement such as Jaime Sin, the evolution of [the Edsa 2] events have been a defeat for due process.”
The problem with our country is that if it is not our guy, we want him out. The culture SHOULD BE whether it is our guy or not, who ever wins in the elections, we as a nation should support regardless. Pres. Estrada won the presidency in 1998.
4. ERAP is about ONE Philippines
During the Estrada administration, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was appointed as Secretary of DSWD. This was an indication that after the 1998 elections, President Estrada gave an important position to his Vice President. This confirms the intention of President Joseph Estrada to unite the political parties and share the progress for a better Philippines.
5. Vox populi, vox dei, THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE IS THE VOICE OF GOD.
President Estrada is after nothing but the welfare of the people. He already made a name for himself as an actor and politician. He is running again because he owes 11 million Filipino voters during the 1998 elections a better future under his administration.
At his age, ERAP simply wants to return the love to his fellow country men.
6. ERAP was NEVER IMPEACHED!
ESTRADA was never impeached by anyone or was never ousted from office, the people protested and there was an attempt to impeach him, but that did not materialize, so the opposition went out in the streets and had their so called People Power2.
Estrada was ousted by a coup, pretending to be "people power". illegal ang pagkakaupo ni Arroyo, Estrada was not convicted in the impeachment trial, so wala silang legal basis. A military coup or even people power is not stated in the constitution to replace a president. Unlike Cory in 1986, won an election, this was confirmed by the Batasang Pambansa, few weeks after Marcos fled.
